PUBLIC SCHOOLS
Dancing embodies one of our most essential relationships in the world. Not only is it a universal language, but incorporates physical, cognitive, emotional, self-esteem, and socialization benefits. It gives opportunity to express language and evoke when thoughts or emotions are too powerful during the developmental stage, and ultimately during one’s whole life. When movement becomes structured and is performed with awareness for its own sake, it becomes dance.
While our educational systems for early childhood include drawing and singing, they sometimes neglect to include dance. It is essential that education provide our children with the developmental benefits and unique learning opportunities that come from organizing movement into the aesthetic experience of dance.

Testimonials
"Distance Learning has brought forth several challenges. As a leader trying to find creative ways to keep students engaged in learning has been at the forefront this year. Fortunately, we have established a partnership with LaBlast who has successfully utilized several academic and social emotional elements for our students, families, and teachers. Students participate safely in two 45-minute sessions a week which includes appropriate music students enjoy, dance, physical fitness, promoting self-motivational messages all while aligning with Physical Education Standards. I am grateful for the positive impact LaBlast has had for the Miles community."

CBZ Reboot K-12 Award Winning Programs
The K-12 Program initiatives began with the CBZ Foundation as a Wellness program in the school districts. The program was developed due to requests from a School Superintendent that was hoping to utilize a dance program to address issues such as: obesity, self-esteem, confidence, social skills and cutting.
CBZ Reboot has expanded the program to include other forms of dance and movement to align additionally with skills such as: leadership, teamwork, project management, math and science. Ballroom/Partnership/Line dancing and most recently Break dancing have been incorporated into the curriculum.
In California, CBZ Reboot has worked with administrators to meet the criteria of the California Dance Standards curriculum. The program has been designed for both in school for credit and after school programs and has received a Certificate of Recognition from the City of Huntington Park. . In some schools a Dance Club is also being developed for students wishing to continue their dance/movement training.
CBZ Reboot is an approved vendor for the Los Angeles Unified School District.

BREAKIN
Breakin derives from the “break.” A Bboy is a Break Boy, a Bgirl a Break Girl or a boy or girl who dances to the “break.” However, Breakin has other important meanings. To “break” also signified the desire to break loose from the hardships of day to day, to break loose from struggles of growing up in underserved neighborhoods, to break down barriers between gangs and inner-city rivals. Breakin was an energetic release of the tension felt by urban youth and physical movement that showed off physical prowess and discipline.
CBZ is a proud supporter of Breakin organizations in bringing this dance style into schools and, gain exposure as Breakin prepares to be in the Olympic Games. |
